Take Down
Set a date when they want the lights turned off and decorations taken down.
On that day:
Take down any greenery and noticeable decorations
Unplug all lights, timers and accessories
On a good weather day (for safety):
Take down lights
Make sure all lights are in good condition for next year.
Remember – It will be you putting the lights up next year so bundle them like you want them.
Create a marking system to mark product as they are taken down. This will speed up the installation time for next year. Mark each end so you know what goes where.
Mini Lights
Bundle lights as you take them off the tree
Twist-tie them or put a rubber band around them (Remember, rubber bands go bad)
Cords
Leave the extension cords bundled loose. Bundling cords too tightly will pull on inner wires and cause stress on cords creating weak points.
